The Atlantic City Press published an article today outlining the mess that has occurred over Hammonton’s Fourth of July celebration. As its stated, Tricia Donio worked months to set up the Fourth of July celebration during the weekend. She had money, volunteers, and vendors. At some point, Hammonton First Councilwoman Jeanne Sparacino-Lewis stepped in and ordered fireworks for Tuesday. Well, we all know how this turns out… Tricia and her volunteers(many with jobs, families, and responsibilities) could not change their date from the weekend, and certainly could not commit to a weeknight to run the celebration. They all exit.
We are left with Councilwoman Lewis’ fireworks on Tuesday, paid for in part, of course, by Mayor DiDonato’s family business, KMD Contstruction.
