Gypsy moths are ravaging portions of this town’s trees at an alarming rate so much so that the local Democratic Club has decided to expend some $3,000 of its Town Council campaign funds to purchase 500 traps for the insects.
The small, yellow-colored traps will be distributed free of charge to local residents at 10 a.m. Saturday at the corner of 13th Street and Egg Harbor Road.
Also, placed noticeably near the bottom of the trap is a sticker with the last names of this year’s Democratic slate for Town Council.
