Clean-Flo, Canoe Club, Rec Director, This, That & The Other Thing: Countless Reasons for Lake’s Closure May Come to an End

Hammonton News reports today that the Hammonton Lake may just, wait for it, reopen to swimmers this summer. Yes, we know, you’ve heard it over and over again every year. Maybe its different this time:

Council also is expected to hire a lifeguard at its meeting next week. Then, town officials will begin testing the water around the beach area for fecal coliform. If the water passes the test for four straight days, the lake could re-open to swimmers, Councilman Jerry Barberio said.

Don’t exactly cancel your shore vacations, but we’d keep your swimming trunks handy, eventually its gotta open back up to swimmers, right?

Hammonton Lake’s Clean-Flo System To Be Fixed

The Hammonton News’ Ben Meritt reports the busted lake cleanup system will eventually be fixed:

We’re on top of it, and we’re going to get it up and running as soon as possible,” said Lou Rodio, the town’s recreation director. “It’s just a matter of picking the pump up and putting it back in.”
