Hammonton News reports today that the Hammonton Lake may just, wait for it, reopen to swimmers this summer. Yes, we know, you’ve heard it over and over again every year. Maybe its different this time:
Council also is expected to hire a lifeguard at its meeting next week. Then, town officials will begin testing the water around the beach area for fecal coliform. If the water passes the test for four straight days, the lake could re-open to swimmers, Councilman Jerry Barberio said.
Don’t exactly cancel your shore vacations, but we’d keep your swimming trunks handy, eventually its gotta open back up to swimmers, right?
