I would like to see the administration clean up the town, I am a new resident to the town and feel there are areas of the town that need some re-vitilization, the downtown should be a priority along with the WHP area, but somthing needs to be done about homes that are in horrible condition. I know that the town can not force property owners into making improvements but there are people working for the town in a dept that is called property maintance which should be making sure trash is put away off the front lawns of homes.

You obvious are new to the town. The current administration has been dumping millions of our tax dollars into the downtown buildings because they own them. The more money they spend downtown the worse it gets. They offer low rent to attrack businesses then after a year they raise it sky high. There are ordinances on the books that the town can enforce but won’t because they don’t want to lose votes. There are many homes throughout the town that have stock piled junk in their yards and when people complain to the town officials it is just ignored and if the person does have to go to court it just gets thrown out. Don’t expect much from this administration it’s all about how they can use our money to benefit them. You will be sorry you moved here.

My predictions for the new year are: the collapse of HF, and the washed up puppet master will be convicted of a criminal offense. Someone will determine where all the money designated for the upgrades at the airport is going since nothing is being done there. Our town will face many changes but good things will happen now that HF is gone. People will be nicer to each other without the evil looming over us. Happy New Year! I’m looking forward to a better brighter new year now that HF will be gone.

HF is wearing down the dedicated town employees. More will resign or retire. HF will then fill the positions with HFers. The year may be new but not so happy.

Well there is no one on council that will defend the town employees. Least of all Jim Bertino he is the one who told the Mayor to lay employees off instead of letting them take furloughs. Makes no sense to me what the hell these people are doing. With all the big salaries the town could have saved a lot more money by making the employees take furloughs. But then again who said they were smart.

Did you see that Mays Landing had to lay off 4 patrolman because they are $2,000,000 dollars in the hole. The mayor felt it would be better having 67 cops making an average of $65,000 per year versus 50 cops making an average of $80,000 per year.
It is a shame that all the money gets squandered when times are good and these patrolman must get laid off because the budgets are in terrible shape.

We are suppose to get snow tomorrow. I wonder if mayor and council will expect other wealthy citizens other than themselves to do all the plowing for free so they can’t spend our money on themselves. Notice mayor and council give nothing yet they expect everyone else to give. Here’s another question why do they keep asking for volunteers at the canoe club when we are paying a recreation supervisor a very good salary to do what? When the school is short on money the first thing they cut is the extra cariculor activities and since our mayor was on the school board you think he would know that.

Every level of government squanders money to the extreme and this includes schools too. Americans are very lazy and very wasteful but at the same time very greedy. Now that we have spent trillions of dollars on a war that we still haven’t yet figured out why we are still fighting and after closing all our factories and giving away our work to foreign countries putting Americans out of work you would think someone would realize there is something wrong with this picture. But no just business as usual. Until certain people are affected by a problem there will never be any solutions that’s just the American way!

Do the people of Hammonton realize the sad shape our town is in financially? I have heard that they (HF) removed the water coolers in different offices in town hall. Is that right and why was that done?

Got the Hammonton News. Why is the green committee writing letters to the editor to alert people what is happening? Are they to cheap to pay for an ad or to lazy to email people. If they are so against using paper why are they writing letters to the editor if they represent a paperless society? They want people to get involved but you can only join if you support HF? Curious who appointed Brian Howell’s sister for this position and does she collect a paycheck from the town? Instead of pressuring the public to go green she needs to start with our town leaders and businesses!

Why didn’t they talk about the furloughs? Most of them contradicted themselves in the same sentence. They looked very upset and nervous it seemed very weird. The meetings keep getting shorter and shorter this one lasted only a little over an hour. I guess they talk about everything before the meeting is open to the public.

Mayor and Council get paid a salary. Why? when they all have excellent paying jobs and are wealthy to begin with. Notice Mayor and Council give up nothing they want everyone else to give up everything. Howell said Stockton won’t cost the taxpayers anything but their will be a long term loan – dah doesn’t that mean the town is borrowing more money and the taxpayers have to pay the bill plus interest? Barberio said the Boyer Avenue fields are in really bad shape but they look good. They are starting to confuse themselves.

“Stockton won’t cost the taxpayer anything” means something different to HF then it does to the average taxpayer. $1 Million Dollars Taxpayer Money minus $1 Million Dollar Grant = 0. I’m for Stockton as long as we don’t EVER spend a dime. Before, During or After.

From what I hear Stockton will be costing the taxpayers of Hammonton 4 million dollars. Remember when HF said town hall and the Canoe Club will cost us 5.9 at Central and Vine. Ah they made a little mistake it cost more like 13 million they were a little off. So in other words if they say Stockton will cost nothing that means it will cost 4 million. They already destroyed our lake park now they will destroy there little baby “downtown”. Oh well you can’t believe anything they say so the taxpayers will have to just suck it up.
